Cherry Lane in Malmesbury

Samantha spent the week of her 15th birthday at the beach with her best friend, Lisa, and her grandparents. On the day of her birthday, we met them in Malmesbury at a cute coffee and gift shop called Cherry Lane. It was also a halfway meeting point, so that we could pick up the girls and bring them home without having to drive double the distance. I'm so glad we could celebrate her birthday with her grandparents in such a pretty setting.

After our morning visit to the Knysna Museums, we took a drive to the Knysna Heads. This was a scenic adventure and so much fun to capture on camera. Thankfully, Hubby took a few photos of me, and, at one point, a lady offered to take a photo of all of us. Knysna is one of the most beautiful stops along the Garden Route.

It was raining the first morning of our two night stay at the Brenton On Sea Cottages. I am not one to waist a good holiday, so, after breakfast, we drove into Knysna and asked at Info. for suggestions. We were given a typed page of possible things to do on rainy days and we opted for the Museums. I was very impressed with how helpful and well organized the Knysna Info. was and hope many people make use of their services.

Our first stop was the Old Gaol (Jail), built in 1859. There are several sections with lots to see and learn, like the Maritime Museum, the Angling Museum, and the Art Gallery. Two blocks down the road is the second museum at the Millwood House with several small buildings that display different aspects of the town's history.
