Le Franschhoek Hotel and Spa

If you've been following this series, then you'll know that we had a family reunion in Franschhoek (Afrikaans for "French Corner") at the end of May. In the late afternoon, my husband's aunt treated all the women of the family to high tea at Le Franschhoek Hotel and Spa. The weather was perfect while we sat outside on the veranda enjoying a wonderful spread of sweet and savory finger foods with individual pots of tea. I was the only one who chose the spiced chai tea. I have fond memories watching the Indian men prepare it in India. They make quite a show of it as they pour the sweet, milky, aromatic tea from one container to another, mixing the beverage well.

La Petite Dauphine Guest Farm

The autumn colors are vibrant in the beautiful wine region of Franschhoek (Afrikaans for "French Corner") at this time of year. If you've been following this series, then you'll know that we had a family reunion in Franschhoek at the end of May. Our group gathered Saturday morning at La Petite Dauphine Guest Farm for a scrumptious breakfast. All the photos are my own, except for the two photos that have me in them.

Bo La Motte Farm in Franschhoek

At the end of May, we enjoyed a family reunion weekend in Franschhoek, one of the oldest towns in South Africa. Some of us stayed in the four-star historical cottages at Bo La Motte Farm. The main dinner was held at the Owl Cottage, where our family of six slept for the two nights. All of the photos that I'm sharing today were taken on the gorgeous grounds of this wine farm, which is one of the original farms established by the Huguenots in the late 1600's.
