Afternoon Drive Through the Mountains

While my husband was driving, I took these photos. We were headed for lunch at Nitida. I shared that post last week. The link is below under "Related Posts". The two flower photos were taken outside the restaurant. They are arum lilies (Zantedeschia aethiopica). It's one of my favorite flowers. They grow wild around here at this time of year. My bridal bouquet was of arum lilies and nothing else.

Lunch at Nitida

We had a delicious lunch at Nitida last Saturday in Durbanville Hills, near Cape Town. We were celebrating my father-in-law's birthday. Ziggy, the miniature Schnauzer, came too. It was special that we could all be together, and the weather was fabulous for a winter's day. I took pics of the kids because it's rare that they are together. You can see photos of my in-laws and my hubby by clicking on the links to the related posts below.

Hiking with Dogs - Part 4

It's almost springtime in South Africa and the wildflowers are already making their appearance. One of our favorites is the Lobostemon fruticosus. It's an evergreen shrub with the prettiest of flowers. These photos were taken at the end of August. We had the moon on one side and the sunset on the other.

Hiking with Dogs - Part 3

The wildflowers are making an early appearance as it's still wintertime here in South Africa. These photos were taken at the end of August. Both dogs were with us, but only Biscuit is featured this time along with Amanda. The first flowers are cat's tails (bulbinella cauda-felis). I'll add captions to some of the others if you're interested in the flowers' names.

Babiana odorata
