Hex River Valley and Farm Stall

The Sunday before Mother's Day, we took a drive to the Hex River Valley and stopped in and had tea at the farm stall. I took a photo of the cute teapots with my phone and shared it on Instagram. Lunch at Ou Meul

Today's photos are of our first time visiting the Ou Meul Bakery in the pretty hamlet of Simondium, between Paarl and Franschhoek. My in-laws invited us out for lunch to celebrate two birthdays, mine and Amanda's. It offers a picturesque setting (we sat in the garden in the shade of a large tree), friendly staff, and delicious food. Hubby and I bought two different meals, the Grilled Moroccan Chicken and Barley Bowl and the Falafel Bowl, and shared them. It was a day to remember and we'll definitely return in the future.

Cape Garden Nursery

A couple of weeks ago, we met up with my mother-in-law at the Cape Garden Centre to buy plants. We had lovely sunshine on a winter's day. While Hubby drove, I took these photos of the wispy cloud formations. Hubby took the pic of us ladies with the plants we chose. We only removed our face masks for a short moment. By law, we have to wear masks in public, which we agree with. The last few photos are of our new plants. All of today's pics were taken with my phone's camera.

Lunch at Angala Part 2

We met my in-laws at Angala, a 5-star boutique hotel nestled between Paarl and Franschhoek. We enjoyed a light lunch here, where they take alfresco dining to another level. The setting is beautiful and the views are breathtaking.

One of the pools is an eco pool, which is a natural pool. No chemicals, salts, or sterilization equipment is used. Plants are doing all the work to keep it clean and it's supposed to be really good for your skin. Amanda had a dainty dragonfly land on her arm. Ziggy, the miniature Schnauzer, belongs to her grandparents.
