House Hunting Near the Beach

Do you enjoy watching house hunting shows? I do, especially homes near the beach with a view. My in-laws own such a home in Britannia Bay, so it's always a real treat when we visit them for the holidays. This time we did some house hunting ourselves. My father-in-law showed us a few homes that were in walking distance to the beach. House 1 has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. House 2 has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a loft and balcony with a view of the water. House 2 sold the day after we saw it!

Christmas Day at the Beach

We spent a wonderful two weeks at Britannia Bay. We enjoyed sunshine, blue skies, turquoise water, and the white beach. These photos were taken on Christmas Day. Even the clouds were stunning. At one point the clouds were shaped like white waves drawn in the sky. Jeremiah, Jessica, and Amanda took Ziggy for a walk, while Samantha and her dad caught some waves with their boogie boards. I took photos. The day ended with a beautiful sunset.

De Palm Lifestyle Center at St. Helena Bay

De Palm Lifestyle Center is near Saint Helena Bay Harbour just off of Main Street. There are places to eat and drink and cute shops to check out. We stopped in at the See Ster and had waffles and ice-cream, though I would not recommend the waffles. Attached to the See Ster is a really nice gift shop, but taking photos wasn't allowed. I photographed the restaurant from the gift shop, so you can get an idea. We picked out a little gift for my in-laws there. Just before we left, we popped in at the Uit Die Kombuis (UDK) deli and bought curry pies. The pastry was perfect and the filling was spicy, but really good.
