Visiting Velddrif - Part 1

Christmas time is summertime in South Africa. We almost always head to the West Coast to my in-laws. Velddrif is a fishing town along an estuary that we love to visit. Our three girls were with us on this outing. We saw the bokkoms hanging out to dry. In one of the photos is a small packet of bokkoms (dried mullet) that we shared. They are very salty. We saw flamingos flying by, but my pic of them isn't very clear.

  2. Don't animals try to eat the drying fish when they are hung in the air like that?

  3. Thanks ladies for your comments! I enjoyed reading them.
To answer the drying fish question, I don't think they are left outside like that. I have seen fish drying inside sheds and a wooden structure with netting.
