Wine Tasting at Stettyn Family Vineyards

We live in South Africa's beautiful wine country and we're privileged to have many wonderful wine estates near us. Stettyn Family Vineyards is about a twenty minute drive from our home, but for some reason we just never visited there. The wine estate is in the Worcester winelands, on the road to Villiersdorp.

Recently, we dropped our daughter off at a birthday party nearby and decided to pop in and have a look. We were surprised by their superb wines and the good prices. Many of their wines have won more than one award. We ended up staying for three hours and then it was time to pick up our daughter. We didn’t go away empty handed either. We bought several wines, which are depicted below. I think my top favorite was the Merlot, which received several golds and a silver. The Pinotage (which is a uniquely South African cultivar) is a new release and hasn't won any awards yet, but it was one of the best that I've had.

2018 Stone Red and
2019 Stone White

2019 Chardonnay & Pinot Noir
and 2019 Chenin Blanc

2017 Merlot, 2017 Pinotage,
and 2017 Shiraz

I am not much of a wine drinker, but I am also not opposed to the occasional wine tasting either. It sounds like a wonderful way to spend the afternoon! Thanks for sharing and linking up with me.

Awww! Thanks! Wishing you a great week!
I've never been big on alcohol, including wine unless it was "sweet." Could be a thing from my great grandfather. I don't know if they had cream soda in Italy, but in the U.S. he would mix red wine with it :) I love the LOOK and smell of wine though, and certainly in cooking! And the bottles...lots to love about wine and these pictures are "aromatic" for the eyes ;)

Cream soda in South Africa is a very sweet soda and green in color. I don’t like it, but it’s popular as a float with vanilla ice cream. Yes, wine can make stews and sauces taste wonderful.
