Boats on the Water - Part 1

These photos were taken over the Christmas holiday at Britannia Bay. There are speedboats, sailboats, a fishing boat, tankers, a kayaker, and other water sports. I will be sharing more over the next few weeks.

Cherry Lane in Malmesbury

The other day we drove to Malmesbury to fetch Amanda. She spent an extended holiday with her grandparents on South Africa's West Coast. This was the half-way point to meet up. Going to Cherry Lane was a great excuse to sit down for a light lunch. The food was enjoyable, except for the waffles. All the photos were taken with my phone's camera.

Horse Riding on the Beach

I have always had a love for horses. Seeing them on the beach and capturing them on camera was one of my highlights this past Christmas holiday. There's a sailboat in the background in two of the photos. There's also a seagull perfectly positioned in the middle of two of my shots when the horses were standing still with their riders. I recommend that you click on the images to enlarge them. At the moment, the beaches are now closed. These photos were taken before the stricter lockdown rules.

Blue Sailboat and Purple Lavender

Welcome to a new year here on 1camera1mom! The theme of today's photos is the color blue. The ocean and sky were particularly beautiful on the day that I took these pics of the blue sailboat. The lavender flowers in some of the shots are from my mother-in-law's garden. Don't you just love all the different shades of the color blue against the stark white of the waves? I also love the turquoise on the inside of the waves.

It took me a while to adjust to having Christmas in the summer, but now I love it! We visited my in-laws over the Christmas holiday and welcomed in the New Year with them. They live on South Africa's West Coast. I have lots of great photos to share with you over the next few weeks. I am sharing pics of our family Christmas of 2020 on Amanda's Books and More. You can also check out photos from our Christmas Day at the Beach in 2019.

2020 was a challenging year for many. Thankfully, our family wasn't hit hard and we experienced many blessings along the way. One milestone was that in July Robbie and I celebrated our 25th Anniversary! We stayed at home and had a braai (BBQ) with our daughters. Our son couldn't be with us. He is an essential worker in IT and continued going to work even when the country was on its strictest lockdown. He lives alone in a tiny studio apartment, so getting out has been good for him.

I hope you are keeping safe wherever you are in the world. Wishing you a Happy New Year 2021!
