Cape Quarter in Cape Town

There's a colorful vibe in the Bo-Kaap with a variety of lifestyle shops and little restaurants. If shopping is your thing, then you'll find unique gifts, paintings, and home decor in the Cape Quarter. Robbie and I walked through it to get a feel of the place. I even have a selfie to show you, which is a rare thing coming from me. I never caught on to the selfie fad.

Bo-Kaap, Malay Quarter, Cape Town

Last week I mentioned that a while back we stayed one night in Cape Town. I shared photos of our first day at the Waterfront. The second day we visited the Bo-Kaap, also known as the Cape Malay Quarter. Bo-Kaap means "above Cape Town."

We visit Cape Town regularly, just not usually for touring. Recently we've been going more often because our eldest daughter is a student at the University of Cape Town. I've included links at the bottom to some of my favorite posts on Cape Town that I've done in the past.

Cape Town and Waterfront

We spent a night in Cape Town a while back and these are some of my photos taken on the first day. We ate the best fish and chips ever at Quay Four by the Waterfront. I definitely hope to go again one day. Our hotel room had a great view of Table Mountain and that night a marching band walked along the street below our window. I've included links at the bottom to some of my favorite posts on Cape Town that I've done in the past.

Road Trip and Cherry Lane

We live in beautiful wine country in the Western Cape. A couple of weeks ago, we took a drive to pick up Amanda who had spent the majority of her "Spring" break with her grandparents at the beach. It's actually not Spring, but Autumn in South Africa.

My mother-in-law met us about halfway in Malmesbury at Cherry Lane. It's a gift shop with a cute tea garden. These photos are of our round trip including our stopover at Cherry Lane. All the scenic shots were taken on the fly while Hubby was driving.
