Wine Tasting at Leipzig - Part 1

We took a spur of the moment drive through the Nuy Valley and popped in at Leipzig. We just so happened to arrive on a day when they were pumping wine from the inside vats to a vehicle where the bottling was taking place. We didn't come to only look, but also to taste.

The winemaker, Vian Bester, hosted a fabulous wine tasting experience, during which he passionately told us about their boutique wines and explained how different wines are produced in South Africa. There were two wine experts also there that day, Wynand Pienaar and Jaques Fourie, who added tidbits of information about the wine making process. I must say, it's a real treat living in wine country!

Wine tasting sounds like art, you live in a great area to visit so many wineries.

That’s a great way of putting it. The hardest artistic part would be the winemaking and the part with all the enjoyment would be the tasting. 😊
