Cape Town - Part 6

World of Birds - Part 4

Vogelpark bei Kapstadt

Today's photos are some of my favorite from our visit to World of Birds. I'm ending off this mini series with photos of the gorgeous plants, adorable monkeys and a few other animals. Amanda had an amazing experience by the squirrel monkeys. The statue of the gorilla is life-size.

All the children were instructed to sit still and keep their hands on their laps while the squirrel monkeys played around them.

Wild Iris - native to South Africa
I fell in love with the wild iris soon after making South Africa my home. It's still one of my favorite flowers. I painted the one below on silk for my mother-in-law in 1995.

This is the end of the World of Birds mini series inside my Cape Town series. Next week I'll continue with more of the exciting city of Cape Town.

In case you missed it, I interrupted my series last week to cover the Cape Epic, an international off-road cycling race.

All original photographs by Tina Morley unless stated otherwise. 1camera1mom is mostly in English mit ein bisschen Deutsch.
