The Surf at Britannia Bay

I am always intrigued at the different moods the ocean has and I especially love photographing the wild surf. These pics were taken on such a day while at Britannia Bay, South Africa. Only the last one of the surf was taken on a different day.

The two girls in the photos are our two youngest daughters. Samantha is now in grade 10 and Amanda is in grade 2. I think they were very brave to try and catch some of these wild waves on their boogie boards.

My blog is best viewed in Google Chrome.

Great captures. We've hardly had any time at the beach so far this summer. Too distracted with moving and the odd days we have been free the sharks have had our beach closed.

Love these photos! The waves are spectacular. Here in California we have had super big swells. The waves are crashing like crazy against the shore. It is a beautiful spectacle.

Wow! I always LOVE shots of waves, and learning how to surf has been on my bucket list since the first time I saw people doing it. :D Thanks for sharing this for Trekking with Becky's #ExpatTuesday! :D
Nice!!!! Really I would like my kids to do that. I'm sure I couldn't surf at all but ;)
xx cathy
She looks a little daunted by those waves and who can blame her but good for her for taking the plunge

We are visiting Sth Africa for the first time in a few weeks and our first stop is Capetown. I'm not sure we will make it as far as Britannia Bay but you never know.
