Giraffe House

The Giraffe House Wildlife Awareness Centre

Hubby took this photo of Samantha and me

Gerry the Giraffe (she's a girl)

We visited Giraffe House on Easter Sunday. They are open 7 days a week and only close on Christmas day. They encourage visitors to come for the day and pack a picnic, since they don't offer food, only drinks and snacks. That was perfect for us and it made the outing very affordable. The tickets were also inexpensive.

The photos below were harder to capture, because I had take the pictures through the wire cages. Thankfully they still turned out great.

Cape Town - Part 10

The Company's Gardens
in Cape Town

The morning after a night's stay at the Taj and a scrumptious breakfast, we went for a walk in the Company's Gardens. We admired the beautiful old buildings along the path.

You can see by our photos that it was overcast and drizzling. It began to rain on our walk back to the hotel. In the rush to take pictures and not get too wet, Hubby quickly took a few photos for me. I'm pretty sure that the last three are his with the tree and the Egyptian Geese.

This is the end of my Cape Town series. I hope you enjoyed the selection. There's so much more to see and do here that I'll probably have a new Cape Town series in the future. In fact, this was my second time doing a series on it. You can check out a couple of neat things we saw and did on my first Cape Town series adventures:

I like this poetic quote by
Friedrich Rückert. I couldn't find it in English, so here's my translation:
"Ask not what Fate will decide in the morning; ours is the moment, let us enjoy it."

"Frage nicht, was das Geschick morgen will beschließen, unser ist der Augenblick, lass uns den genießen." Friedrich Rückert (1788-1866)

Cape Town - Part 9

In March, Hubby and I went to the Taj in Cape Town for my 40th birthday. One of the restaurants at the Taj is called the Mint where we ate dinner and the following morning breakfast.

I was blessed that my in-laws could stay with the kids and take them to school the next day, so that we could get away for the night. On my birthday 20 years ago, we had our first dinner date at the Taj in Mumbai (it was Bombay at the time). I was given vouchers for the Taj in Cape Town as a Christmas gift from our friend who I featured in Part 7. The gift couldn't have come at a better time with me celebrating my 40th birthday and us celebrating the 20th anniversary of our first date.

Mr.Wiseman pouring the wine
He was a fabulous host.

Cheers!

Robbie ordered the tornado, just like he
did at the Taj in Mumbai 20 years ago.

I ordered the pasta like I had 20 years ago.
Robbie's tornado was fabulous, but my
pasta was a disappointment.

The complimentary dessert platter
was wonderful.

This was part of the breakfast buffet.
I enjoyed the huge selection.

Camps Bay and the
Codfather Restaurant

My cousin and his girlfriend flew out from Switzerland with two of their friends for a holiday in South Africa. We met them in Camps Bay, Cape Town and had lunch at the Codfather.
