Wild Flower Time in South Africa - 7

Robbie, Jessica, Amanda and I went on a hike near the Worcester, Golf Course.
I'm going to share this hike of ours in two batches. The second batch
of photos will have a lot more wildflowers.

Check out these unusual wildflower bulbs below. They look like they've been dipped in sugar.
Apparently, these bulbs are parasitic and that is what caused the plants around them to turn black.

It always amazes me how the wildflowers can grow so happily in such harsh
conditions. Look at the dry, rocky dirt ground around these yellow flowers.

That's the great thing about the Cape - just so easy to get out into nature - and with it only getting dark late, what more could one ask for?

Yes, so true, but even with the cold over there, I still miss all the American festivities and most of my relations are in the States. :)

Wow, those are some great shots, with some great scenery. Not sure I could take a hike with all those rocks, but I love the look of them.
Interesting fact about the weird little plants.
Would love for you to stop by and share http://totsandme.blogspot.com/2012/11/wordless-we...
