Opstal: Wine Estate and Restaurant

Opstal is situated in the Slanghoek Valley, one of the most beautiful valleys in the Breedekloof Wine Region. We took our son wine tasting in January of this year and this was one of our stops of choice. It was a great experience, especially since we could hear about the wines from one of the generations of wine makers, Attie Louw. Opstal is a family-run estate with 7 generations of wine makers!

Attie treated us to a brand new wine that had not yet been bottled and labeled. It was a very special wine, very unique to the palate. I went back recently for tea and scones and got to photograph the new label. My photos below are a blend of these two visits.

Hi Tina, I dont make it over here very often, so I wanted to see your fun photos, what a great vineyard, I think I have only been to one in California, I knew nothing about wines at the time. it looks like you all enjoyed yourselves. Amanda is darling and your son is sure growing up.

Have a great week!

Hi Min! Thanks for stopping by. I really loved your shots of Wineglass Bay. The rocks in Tasmania remind me of the ones in our region - Breede Valley, Western Cape. I enjoyed the fact that you took "rock" photos, because I sometimes wonder if other people appreciate the rocks I see when we go for a drive and now I know that other people enjoy rocks too! ;)
