Paternoster, South Africa

Paternoster is one of the oldest fishing villages on South Africa's West Coast. Our family took a drive there one afternoon while staying at my in-laws' place in Britannia Bay during our Christmas holiday. Along the beautiful white beach you can see white boulders and white-washed fishermen's cottages, many of which have been turned into tourist accommodation. Against all of the white is a blue sky, blue sea and colorful traditional fishing boats.

I never thought of South Africa having fishing villages. Is there a particular reason for the white theme? Are the houses white because of the white boulders?

Thanks for sharing this for #ExpatTuesday! :D

Just simple homes for the fishermen. I guess the cheapest was to white-wash their homes. ;)

Thanks, Tracy! South African foods are similar to the English/British. It's funny for me being American and being called "English," but I hardly notice anymore. I'm glad you're finding your way around the food labels and what you can eat!

Danke vielmals, Heidrun! So thanks for the encouragement! I hope you visit again and leave a link with a comment so that I can easily follow back.
Wishing you a nice week ahead!

It`s okay to make mistakes. I`m sure I write some english sentences wrong too... ;) It`s the way to learn something.

Wish you a good next week!
