The Robertson Wine Region - Part 2

Today's photos are of the countryside along the road to Robertson and through it. Most of these photos were taken from a moving vehicle. You can see the changes of season from winter to spring from snow-capped mountains to budding trees. It was a beautiful day.

The Robertson Wine Region - Part 1

Amanda loves going wine tasting. Of course, she's not old enough to taste any wine, but sometimes there is sparkling grape juice for the younger ones. One day at the mall, she asked me when we're going wine tasting again. As soon as we had a sunny weekend, we took her for a drive through the Robertson wine region. It was a lot of fun.

At Ann De Doorns, we bought wine and olives.
It was our first stop on the way to Robertson.

bought bread to take home with us.

A Morning at Val de Vie, Paarl

We spent a morning at the Val de Vie estate in Paarl, South Africa. It was a beautiful day and I'm so glad that I brought my camera along. The sky was particularly stunning.

Val de Vie is known for its grand homes, but it's also known for its Polo club and an Olympic gold-medalist shareholder, Ryk Neethling. So, why were we there? Were we interested in buying a home? No. We were there for our son, Jeremiah, who was having a follow-up physio therapy session at one of the lovely homes.

Funny enough, we bumped into Ryk who soon found out that we were not potential buyers. He was nice enough to tell us more about their Polo club and let us take the typical fan photo. Hubby graciously offered to take the shot, so that I could be in it too.

Karoo Gardens at Midday

We ate a picnic lunch under the shade of a tree at the Karoo Garden's with my mother-in-law. I took lots of pictures of all the vibrant colors of the South African plants. Everything is in full bloom as it's springtime here in the Southern Hemisphere. I've added family photos at the end. If you were following my blog this past week, the pictures of the Karoo Gardens that I posted before were taken as the sun went down. Today's photos were mostly taken in full sunlight. A perfect day for a picnic. My mother-in-law
bought pizza. Yay!
